So you get your shoes can bring dirt and germs into your home. But it's WAY more than just dirt. Wearing your shoes indoors can be making you sick and you don't even know it. So it's not your mom from back in the day telling you to take your shoes off so you don't get the floors dirty, it's alos health experts who are now telling you to do the same thing. Here are four reasons why wearing shoes inside is bad for your health:
- Disease-causing poop pathogens lurk on your sneakers
- You can track in pesticides or lead from the lawn, playground, or garden
- Shoes are also a source of tiny fragments of plastic that can be absorbed into your body
- "Forever chemicals" which are linked to some cancers can cling to outdoor footwear
So if you've been more comfortable not wearing shoes for a while now, you can keep on that same path and let everyone know you're doing what's good for your health.
