So when it comes to keeping your kids off social media cash is the thing that works. There was a mom in Motley, Minnesota who paid her 12 year old son $1800 to stay AWAY from Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat
"I was alreay a little sensitive to social media since his siblings had struggle with it a bit," says Lorna Klefsaas. "I watched social medai cause stress, anxiety and hurt feelings in my other kids and loved the idea of coming up with a spare Sivert from that." Klefsaas says the ammount she paid him was because of his age, and if he chose to he could join those sites at 18.
So after 6 years off the social media radar on Saturday, Sivert held up his end of the bargain and stayed off social media. He did say that the deal sounded a lot better to him when he was 12. He thought $1800 was a lot of money, and there were times where he wanted to crack. He missed out on inside joke or TikTok trends, but was always finding ways to be informed. He said his friends eventually filled him in.
Could you have done it for $1800??
