It's a thing on TikTok, people are working their butts off to get their bodies swimsuit ready. But it's time to put the breaks on that stuff, and who says there's only one type of body that looks good beach ready, but it's time to ditch that thought.
According to the National Eating Disorder Association the thought of being acceptable in a bathing suit is dangeroug. Their latest survey shows 7 in 10 women and girls have experienced a dive in body confidence and an increase in appearance-related anxiety as a result of unrealistic beauty standards portrayed in the media. Long story short, those images aren't real people, you don't need to be like that. In fact, the average American woman is between a size 16 to 18. Curvy is queen and beautiful for sure.
So what are some other ways for you to shake off the unrealistic messages about your body?
- cleanse your social media
- move your body in a joyful way
- use your voice
- focusing on having the best summer for YOU!
