Do you charge your phone in bed? TJ keeps his across the room so he gets up for his alarm, Janet and Jrod both keep theirs bedside on a table. So is that bad? No, but what is bad is actually leaving your phone on your blanket or bed covering.
There was a British teen that found out just how bad it could be after her iPhone charger burst into flames, and it burned part of her face. Amie Hall said on Facebook that she was falling asleep when she saw a hot orange light coming from her bad cover. That's when she saw her Apple charger had set fire to her duvet cover. She jumped out of bed to put it out, but the flames burned some of her right cheek. She was really lucky because her mom put the fire out before it got any worse. Hall is now advising people not to charge their phone while they're in the bed, and Apple has released tips for safe charging practices.
Officials aren't sure if it was the charger or faulty wiring that caused the fire, but for now it's a good idea to keep the phone off of your blanket.
