You know it's coming. You've planned trips, canceled trips, and now you might have travel credit built up due to COVID-19. So now that things are looking up, it's time. You're ready to get out of the house to "make up for lost time." But do you know what the term "revenge travel" means? It's where people are finally getting a vaccine, and as it rolls out and restrictions ease up, people plan to take "retribution against COVID-19" and vacation like they never have before.....which sounds amazing.

So if you're planning on joining the movement, you better start planning a trip soon. According to Alad Fyall, the interim chair for the tourism department at the University of Central Florida, there's been a huge surge in bookings thanks to everyone wanting to spend their miles, points and couchers that have been sitting unused in their accounts over the past year.

So where are people planning to go? Fyall says the top destinations are still state and national parks in driving distance, but also expects that people will really want to see family and friends, and that will factor in more and more to their travel plans.

But even though revenge travel sounds extreme, people are still planning to be cautious. Konrad Waliszewski, the CEO of the travel app Tripscout says "people want to go as far away as they can get without actually leaving the country." So expect to see a lot of pics from destinations like Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands popping in your Insta feeds soon.

Like always, be safe. Get your shot, and wear your mask.
