So your normal Thanksgiving morning is going to be different if you watch the parade this year. Instead of a 2 and 1/2 mile route, the parade will now just cover one city block. The good news is, the legendary balloons will still be there. But the difference is instead of handlers, the balloons will be taken down the route by utility vehicles.
Plus all the pre-filmed Broadway productions will still be there, so you can plan on seeing productions of "Ain't Too Proud- The Life and Times of The Temptations," Hamilton," "Jagged Little Pill," and "Mean Girls," as well as the Rockettes performing during the parade.
Onlookers have been discouraged throughout the pre-tapins of the parade, and nearly 10 thousand people that work the event have been pared down to just about 1500.
Other things you can still expect to see at the parade on Turkey Day is The Big Apple Circus, the NYPD Police Band, and the West Point Marching Band will be on site, and we'll have musical appearances from Patti LaBelle, Dolly Parton, Jordan Sparks, and more. The BIG questions most people have is if Santa Claus will be there or not this year, and of course he will wrap things up. So don't forget to check out the parade this Thanksgiving morning!!!!
