We're ALL IN on the Netflix documentary "Tiger King" about Joe Exotic, and the craziness surrounding his life and tiger zoos across the country. (SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't watched yet stop reading now) In one of the episodes Joe Exotic's production studio and also an area housing several alligators and a crocodile burned to the ground, killing all the gators. I was just doing a casual search about this when I found an article in the Los Angeles times stating:
"Michael Jackson’s pet alligators burned alive in animal park fire"
Wait a minute...WHAAAAAT? Turns our those were Michael Jackson's animals that perished in the fire. According to the LA Times "The late pop star’s seven alligators and a crocodile died in the March 26 blaze that also destroyed a video production studio at Garold Wayne Interactive Zoological Park in Wynnewood, Okla., said owner Joe Schreibvogel."
Um, who the heck is Joe Schreibvogel? I mean, I know that's Joe Exotic's real name, but it looks so odd to see it in print.
The article went on to say that "The exotic pets once belonged to the late musician (Michael Jackson) and were taken from Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara County after it closed."
Crazy connection...huh? And the deep dives into the story of Joe Exotic are just beginning. Can't wait to see what's next.
