Should There Be A Parental Dress Code For Schools?

Pjs are now longer appropriate for parents to wear at one high school in Texas.

A Texas high school is out with a dress code for parents. James Madison High School in Houston announced a new policy on its homepage earlier this month requiring parents to conform to a dress code before entering the school.

Our favorite part was the brief statement to parents that says “Parents, we do value you as a partner in your child’s education. However, please know we have to have standards, most of all we must have high standards.” Roasted!

The policy has a long list of clothing parents aren't permitted to wear in the school or at school events, including hair rollers, pajamas, sagging pants, Daisy Dukes, and men in undershirts. Critics of the policy are calling it discriminatory, particularly against women.

Parent dress codes are becoming a trend nationwide.
