Missy Elliott surprised her “funky White sister” on yesterday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. To review, Mary Halsey’s performance of “Work It” went viral over the summer. Missy was such a fan that she shared it on Twitter.
Fast forward to yesterday. Mary revealed that she’d been doing that song for about 15 years. It’s her go-to karaoke tune because so many people love to hear her do it. The performance that when viral was from a karaoke in the park event at Goddard Park in Rhode Island. Of course, Ellen asked Mary to perform. During her rendition, Missy came out and surprised her.
As if that wasn’t enough, Missy brought Mary a cool autographed T-shirt and Ellen gave her a jacket with “Missy’s Funky White Sister” on the back.
