A man Justin Bieber allegedly got into a street brawl with in 2016 is suing him over it. You may recall TMZ reporting that the pop star scuffled with a man outside his hotel in downtown Cleveland after Game Three of the NBA Finals in June 2016.
In February 2017, TMZ reported that the alleged victim, Tobias Cannon, filed a police report naming Bieber as a suspect in the incident. At the time, Cannon told police the fight started after Bieber grabbed his sunglasses. Cannon said he took a picture of the pop star in his glasses, which enraged Bieber and triggered the scuffle. Cannon said he was treated at the hospital for injuries he sustained during the fight, including a concussion. He said he’d tried to settle with Bieber, but the singer wouldn’t cooperate.
The new lawsuit -- which was filed in Los Angeles -- seeks to hold Bieber accountable for Cannon’s injuries. In it, Cannon claims he sustained injuries to his head, neck and back, and he said he lost consciousness during the fight. Cannon also claims Bieber used what he described as racial epithets during the fight, but he doesn’t specify what Bieber allegedly said.
