Amid reports that Kanye West is scaring friends by saying he’s going to take control of every aspect of his work, he has now fired much of his team, including super-manager Scooter Braun. People close to the rapper worry that he has been acting in a way similar to his behavior just before his breakdown in 2016, telling people that “Yeezy is the new Apple” and saying he doesn’t need people with “titles” doing things for him.
West gave his team an ultimatum -- work with him full-time or not at all. Several of them, including his lawyers and Braun (who manages Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande as well), weren't up for that. West has spent the past week tweeting “philosophy,” upsetting fans by praising with the right-wing commentators and reportedly telling a radio host that he “love[s] Donald Trump.”
