You know how it is, you notice that you have a meeting scheduled and then you find out it's canceled. Why does that make us so happy? It's strange, but there might be a reason, and it has to do with science.

Rutgers University and three other institutions did a studay that reveals that unexpected free time feels subjectively longer than planned free time of equal duration. So when you see that "Meeting Canceled" email, this is probably why it feels so much better.

So your original expectation of zero free time, because of this lack of meeting puts you in an instant good mood, and this feeling comes whether cancellations are welcome or disappointing.

What will you do with your newly found free time when you see your next meeting gets canceled? I'm getting a taco.
