You know you already check your phone a LOT. But now that you want to keep ties on your kid, they have a phone earlier than you did. But how many times a day are they checking their devices....especially at school?
It's about 64 times a day. If it's a text message to a friend, email or grades. They're on them a lot at school.
Students who checked their devices most frequently scored worse on tests measuring focus and impulse control. The study found screen time increased throughout the day, from 16 minutes at 8am to over 22 minutes by 2pm. Middle schoolers used phones less than high schoolers but still averaged 12 minutes per hour.
So are you cool with how they're using their devices during class? Even if it is effecting their grades?
