Do your kids drink energy drinks, or soda with lots of sugar in them? These could be the reason your kids are on edge as of late.
New research reveals teenagers who regularly consume sugary beverages face 34% higher odds of developing anxiety disorders. That's not scary at all now is it?
A systematic review analyzing nine global studies covering 70,000 adolescents aged 10-19 found seven studies showed positive connections between sugar-sweetened drink consumption and anxiety symptoms.
But you spend so much time trying to not have so much sugar in their diets, but you don't know what they're getting at school most of the time. Even sometimes the milk has lots of sugar in it.
Energy drinks containing caffeine could amplify anxiety effects in developing teen brains. So stay away from those too. How do you keep them happy while trying to keep them "Happy"? Talk to your kid and see what they're taking in every day. The answer may surprise you.
