Are You Cutting The Cord....From Cutting The Cord?

Did you cut the cord from cable because you wanted/needed to save some $$$$? You still happy with that decision? I mean to watch all of the best shows that all of your inner circle are watching means multiple streaming services. With each $12-$30 a month the cost adds up quick. So what do you do now?

Well, now the trend for Americans is cutting back their subscription services as prices climb (and will keep going up the more we watch, and don't get me started with the "Commercial free" crap. There are ads on every service lol). There was a survey of 1,138 households. The average household dropped from 4.1 paid subscriptions in 2024 to just 2.8 in 2025, a steep 32% decline. YIKES!

Nearly half of subscribers (49.7%) say any more price increases would not be what they signed up for and they'll bail. Major streaming services have raised prices significantly, with Disney+ and Hulu jumping from $7.99 to $9.99 monthly.

Despite cutbacks, Americans still waste about $127 annually on unused subscriptions. My family does this so I watch all of them to make them worth the money...in my opinion lol.

Password sharing dropped from 3.2 to 2.3 people per household due to company crackdowns (but they know you're still doing it, and they will slap the account holders hand, or charge you with a federal offense.) but, 45.7% of respondents now say they’re more likely to stream content illegally because of rising costs.

Everything is expensive. Take advantage of deals and pay in advance for the year and it could save you some cash if you decide to stay. But if not, it's back to cable/dish service you had at one time.

Happy streaming.
