Big Red Kia Feeds the Community
Norman, OK Car Dealer to Provide 100 Free Lunches Daily to the Public
Norman, OK – Chris Mayes, owner of Big Red Kia, has pledged to hand out a minimum of 100 sack lunches every day at the car dealership, located at 418 North Interstate Drive in Norman amidst widespread job layoffs and financial hardships caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
“Our business is hurting badly,” said Mayes. “But we still have a responsibility to give back to the community that has supported us for over 40 years. People should not be going hungry in America and hopefully this will help out.”
Beginning Monday, March 30, Big Red Kia’s staff is assembling a minimum of 100 bag lunches comprised of pre-packaged sandwiches, protein bars, multigrain bars, fresh fruits and bags of chips. The lunch bags will be handed out to the public on a first-come, first-served basis Monday-Friday from 12pm-1pm. Big Red Kia will provide this service as long as possible. Big Red Kia is seeking volunteers and corporate partners to help make the lunch offerings more diverse; and to help keep the program going as long as the community needs it.
For over 40 years, Big Red Kia has conducted its Norman, Oklahoma business in a way that promotes the highest principles of integrity. The dealership employs over 35 people and supports local charities such as Dragon Fly Shelter and Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.
Those interested in volunteering and/or offering any assistance with Big Red Kia’s outreach program should call 405.364.4400 and ask for Chris Mayes.
