What started with a School Superintendent simply supporting one of his schools by attending a football game ended with him in jail.
According to police, students told them that they believed Jason Thomson had been drinking after he was seen crowding surfing in the student section during the game at Baker High School in Baldwinsville, New York. Thomson had a blood alcohol level greater than .08%, failed to use his turn signals while driving, and had no front license plate which is required in New York.
According to CNY Central School Board President, Jennifer Patruno, released a statement to parents and students of the district that read "We appreciate the prompt response by school staff in responding to this matter. Since this is a personnel matter the district is unable to comment further. Please be assured the district takes this matter seriously and will take appropriate action if warranted. It is the expectation our district staff serve as role models for our students at all events."
