The Norman, Oklahoma Police Department issued a statement early Monday morning after a potential threat to an area school started circulating on Social Media.
"On September 11, 2022 at approximately 7:00pm, the Norman Police Department's Patrol Division responded to a call for service related to a threat at a local area school. The reporting party provided information that was circulating on a social media platform, which pictured an unknown individual holding a firearm. Norman Public School officials were immediately notified about the situation and have been kept informed throughout the investigation.
After gaining pertinent information from another reporting source ,the Norman Police Department's Criminal Investigations initiated an investigation into the matter, which is currently ongoing.
At this time we are unable to confirm if the individual who made this post is a Norman Public School student.
The Norman Police Department treats threats toward schools and students with the utmost concern. As a result of this threat, the Norman Police Department will increase officer presence at the schools on Monday."
