7 beauty tips you should forget
We don't want you to look like your Great Aunt Gertie!
1 - Line your lips with a pencil that's a shade darker than your lipstick. You lip liner should be the same color as your lipstick or worn all over your lips.
2 - Shave and redraw your eyebrows. There are plenty of good brow products out there to help you get the arches you're after, but you want your natural brows left on your face.
3 - Heat up your eyelash curler with a hair dryer. The idea of turning your lash curler into a mini curling iron seems great, but it's going next to your eye! You don't want to burn yourself.
4 - Skip moisturizer if you have oily skin. It's a myth that people with oily skin shouldn't use moisturizer. Your skin needs hydration and without, your oil glands will produce more to compensate and you get into a big, shiny cycle.
5 - Redheads shouldn't wear red lipstick. This is an outdated idea and you should be able to wear any shade of red that looks best on you, just like people with any hair color.
6 - Your skin should feel squeaky clean after you cleanse. Your skin shouldn't feel tight after you wash it, that's a sign you've stripped the natural oils you need. Instead, it should feel smooth and soft, because it's properly moisturized.
7 - Rinse and repeat when you shampoo. Don't follow those old-school directions to lather, rinse and repeat unless you want straw-like hair. Once should do it.
