We're their friends for their entire lives, but we only have them for a short time. So if it came down to it and you had the perfect dog would you clone him/her if they got sick and died?
I mean, you couldn't guarantee that the family member would be the same, but just to see their face one more time would it be worth it?
I tell my daughter who loves our dogs so much that she needs to enjoy them while they're here. She always asks "don't you wish we could clone Doug so he could be here with us forever?" and sure, he's a great dog. I would go as far as saying he's the best dog. But we could never afford that. But a guy in Miami found a way to make it work.
He spent $50,000 to clone his Boston Terrier Lucas after the dog died from lymphoma. Hoinkis called Lucas his “best friend and soulmate,” traveling with him to dozens of countries since 2017. But $50K is a lot of money.
The owner said he has no regrets, saying “It’s almost like it never happened, like he never left me.”
If you love something, let it go, if it comes back it was meant to be? I guess, but sometimes it comes along with a $50,000 price tag.
Would you do it if you could?
