From Justin Bieber's lizard cover-up to the allegations that Avril Lavigne was cloned, conspiracy theories remain a constant reminder that some people have just too much time on their hands. Katy Perry grew up as JonBenét Ramsey.

Some believe that JonBenét Ramsey, the child pageant queen who was murdered in 1996, grew up to be none other than Katy Perry. If you refer to a series of YouTube clips, you'd lean into the following ideas: JonBenét's murder was staged. The two look somewhat alike. Their parents also look similar. Perry once name-dropped the late child star in her memoir.

Avril Lavigne died and was replaced by a clone.

Avril Lavigne's sonic journey has dramatically changed since her debut and a lookalike named Melissa is apparently the reason for it. In 2005, an online Brazilian blog claimed that Lavigne died in 2003 and was replaced by a woman named Melissa Vandella. The theory did its best to claim that her voice, style, autograph and even facial structure changed since 2003. More specifically, a number of before and after photos depicted different marks on her body. Internet junkies also cited specific lyrics that alluded to the change, but it all boiled down to being "so dumb," according to Lavigne.

Lorde is not as young as she claims.

Earlier in her career, folks believed that Lorde wasn't actually a teen, but rather a woman in her '30s. The singer offered a few suspect answers while on the press circuit, particularly when talking about her age or one particular cultural reference. Yet, things came to a halt after The Harpin's Emma Carmichael went ahead and obtained her birth certificate, which reveals that she was indeed born on November 7, 1996.

Justin Bieber is a lizard person and someone caught him mid-transformation.

Back in 2017, an Aussie site claimed to have seen Bieber transform into a lizard in public. Folks raised eyebrows when the site deleted the report and a viral clip of him from 2014 showed the pop star "blinking like a lizard" that time he got arrested.

Rihanna cannot wink.

You can also blame the internet for suggesting that Rihanna cannot wink. This all started when BuzzFeed UK employee Ben Henry gained viral traction for a mini-Twitter thread, in which he shared several GIFs of her going in for the wink but ends up blinking instead.

Solange Is Actually Beyoncé's Daughter

Beyoncé is a bit older than we think if you believe this conspiracy theory. According to a birth certificate from the Department of Health in Texas, the pop titan's birth year supposedly read as 1974 as opposed to her publicized 1981 year. On top of that, Gabrielle Union once said that she's been friends with Bey since they were teenagers. Mind you, Union was born in 1972.

One Direction's Harry Styles and Larry Tomlinson were romantic.

Hardcore 1D fans believe that the two bandmates dubbed "Larry Stylinson" were romantic with one another, while management did their best to mask the secret. The theory dissected every photo, interview interaction, music video and more to showcase this link between the pair. The theory went as far as appearing in HBO's Euphoria, a retelling that prompted an angry tweet from Tomlinson.
