Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s hit “Side to Side” is the subject of a new lawsuit. A man named Christopher R. O'Connor has filed a lawsuit claiming the tune is a rip-off of his track, "J5 (T6).”
He’s claiming someone at UMG Recordings found his song and used it as the basis for the Ari/Nicki collaboration. He’s also accusing UMG of using some of his other tunes for songs by Taylor Swift and Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda.
