There's a shortage of Doritos, Cheetos and other Frito-Lay products at bodegas and small convenience stores in New York City. So what happened? Recent delivery driver's pay cuts, we’re talking by up to 33-percent, prompted many to quit, and there aren't enough trucks to supply all the stores.
The new pay scale will see Big Apple-based drivers earning 60-thousand-dollars a year, down from 90-thousand-dollars. Obviously, the store owners are resorting to desperate measures. Some have ambushed some remaining delivery trucks trying to bum chips or pretzels.
As for the drivers? Many headed over to Amazon to deliver packages.
