Demi Lovato Joined On Stage By Florida Shooting Survivors

Demi Lovato kicked off her “Tell Me You Loved Me” tour this week in San Diego and she had some very special guests on hand to help her. The singer welcomed on stage a group of survivors from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, where 17 people were killed in a mass shooting earlier this month.

“On February 14, one of the worst mass shootings in American history took place,” Demi said in her introduction. “These students were in school that day. Please welcome them to the stage.” She added, "It was such an honor to meet them and hear their courageous stories. I want to make sure their voices are being heard and we can provide them with the mental health and post-trauma care they need.”

All the students were wearing MSDStrong shirts and Demi informed the audience where they could make donations to help the victims, noting, “this isn’t about politics, it’s about community.”
