Following reports of Tom Cruise’s stunt accident on the set of Mission: Impossible 6 over the weekend, production has been halted as the star recovers from a broken ankle. On Sunday, Cruise leapt from a building while filming and slammed into a brick wall before scrambling onto another rooftop. He attempted to continue filming, but was clearly injured as he limped across the rooftop. He may be sidelined for up to nine weeks. “During production on the latest ‘Mission: Impossible’ film, Tom Cruise broke his ankle while performing a stunt,” a Paramount rep confirmed. “Production will go on hiatus while Tom makes a full recovery.” The statement added, “Tom wants to thank you all for your concern and support and can’t wait to share the film with everyone next summer.” The film will still open next July.
