Last year Selena Gomez canceled her tour in order to focus on her health and in a new interview she’s opening up about the treatment she underwent in rehab.

“I went away for 90 days, and it was the best thing that I ever could’ve done,” she tells “InStyle.” “I had no phone, nothing, and I was scared. But it was amazing, and I learned a lot.”

While cut off from the world Selena says she didn’t do her hair for days and enjoyed “equine therapy,” which she calls “beautiful.” She adds, “And it was hard, obviously. But I knew what my heart was saying, and I thought, ‘OK, I think this has helped me become stronger for other people.'”

And Selena hasn’t stopped the healing process. “I go to therapy. I believe in that and talking about where you are,” she says. “But I’m in a really, really healthy place.”
