George Clooney is selling his tequila company Casamigos to Diageo for $1 billion. Clooney, who owns the company with Rande Gerber and Michael Meldman, will join his business partners in playing an active role in the company following the sale. “We created Casamigos Tequila four years ago for us to drink personally and selling it for $1 billion is something we never could have imagined,” Gerber said. “We remain committed to our brand and look forward to our future with Diageo and continuing our work with our dedicated and passionate Casamigos team.” Gerber also proved that he’s not only a great business partner but a true friend to Clooney, who recently welcomed twins. In a video shot in the Casamigos office, Gerber pushes a cart of diapers, captioning the clip, “Special delivery.”
