Ariana Grande To Become Citizen Of Manchester

The people of Manchester want to honor Ariana Grande for what she did for the city following the terrorist attack after her concert last month that killed six people.

The singer is expected to be made an honorary citizen of Manchester under a new system the city council is hoping to enact to recognize folks who have made an outstanding contribution to the city

“This seems a fitting moment to update the way we recognize those who make noteworthy contributions to the life and success of our city,” council leader Sir Richard Leese says. "We've all had cause to be incredibly proud of Manchester and the resilient and compassionate way in which the city, and all those associated with it, have responded to the terrible events of May 22 - with love and courage rather than hatred and fear,” adding that Ari, "exemplified this response.”
