Will.i.am is denying a report that claimed he had confirmed that Fergie has left the Black Eyed Peas.
The rumor began when Will.i.am gave an interview in which he seemed to suggest that Fergie wasn’t an official member of the group, and only a “featured female” singer, mentioning other women that have appeared on their songs like Macy Gray, Esthero, Debi Nova, and adding “We’ll always work with good females.”
Well, Will.i.am later clarified his statement on Twitter writing, “Lies…@Fergie is focusing on #DoubleDutchess & @BEP is doing #MastersOfTheSun…That doesn’t mean @fergie is out of the group #BEP4ever.” Fergie later responded by tweeting, "Everyone knows I will always love and support my @bep brothers, @iamwill, @tabbep, @apldeap."
A rep for the producer later added, “Fergie is still in the Black Eyed Peas and has an enormous amount of love for her brothers. However, she’s currently focusing on her solo record in partnership with BMG and she’s incredibly excited for her fans to hear her new music."
