Apparently, us Okies have a reputation for being bad drivers, inspiring this meme:
Haha (sarcastic tone implied.) Very funny bazarcomedy (again...sarcastic tone.) But, maybe we re-brand our new license plates with a slogan saying, "Oklahoma...Home of 3rd Safest Drivers In The U.S." because according to Quote Wizard we are just that. According to their study, "Oklahoma has some of the safest drivers in the country. The Sooner State made a big leap, going from 11th best in 2017 to third best in 2018. That’s because of a decrease in speeding, citations, and fatalities."
Maybe all that safe driving stuff is why we are presumed to be bad drivers. Who hasn't been stuck behind someone driving the speed limit screaming, "GO YOU (EXPLETIVE!) By the way, Tulsa ranks seventh best in their study of the best and worst drivers by city. Oklahoma City is 35th safest in the country (But, OKC has the Thunder, so...)
So, which Oklahoma cities have the worst drivers?
According to the hashtag on this meme, Midwest City is pretty bad. But, MWC has the 24th worst drivers in Oklahoma. The worst drivers in Oklahoma are in....NEWCASTLE. The study is based on overall incidents in each city. Incidents include accidents, speeding tickets, DUIs, and citations. So, basically, Uber to the casino if you want your driving stats to improve.
